This version of the Messerschmitt BF-109 fighter plane was used by the Germans during WW2 for air to air combat with the British Royal Airforce over the English channel. The 3D model comes fully rigged using Unreal Engine's Control Rig. All the Geometry is Nanite which allows for high polycounts with more details and smoother overall shapes while at the same time keeping the highest possible performance. All the high quality PBR Materials are ready to be rendered utilizing multi tile textures for higher resolution.

To animate the model with the Control Rig simply create a new Level Sequence and add the BP_BF109 Blueprint to it. Then click the plus icon on the track and add the Control Rig asset as the rig to use. You can now keyframe animate the model like you would in any other 3D software. There's a sample sequence already including the Blueprint and the Control Rig.

Important Notes:

  • This product supports Nanite for Unreal Engine 5.0+
  • If the textures are not displaying correctly make sure "virtual texture maps" is enabled in the project settings
  • In UE 5.0 Nanite does not support two-sided materials. Therefore in some areas you can watch through the meshes. To use two-sided materials disable Nanite on the meshes with the two-sided material. In UE 5.1 this problem was solved and Nanite works with two-sided materials as well.
