The asset includes 10 heterogeneous effects created from 10 sparse volume textures.

SHOWCASE AND CUSTOMIZATION VIDEO

All effects are made using VDB data in heterogeneous volumes inside the blueprints. You just can put them on your scene using the blueprints. All the render in preview using Unreal Engine 5.3+ pathtracing.

To make the VDB run on the pathtracing, use this console command: r.PathTracing.HeterogeneousVolumes 1.0

Main Features:

  • 10 effects with the ability to create new ones using material settings
  • Smoke density control
  • Emission control
  • Fire color shift control
  • Temperature control
  • Smoke color control
  • Scattering control
  • Emissive tint control
  • Speed control

All these parameters are controlled with the help of material instances.

IMPORTANT! If you have problems with flickering, just change the Streaming Mip Bias from 1 to 2+. 0 value means the maximum quality. This can happen if you have a lot of VDB effects on the scene. This greatly optimizes your scene, but almost imperceptibly reduces the quality of effects. You can find this setting inside the Heterogeneous component in the Blueprint > Sparse Volume Texture streaming tab > Advanced settings.
