This product contains a code plugin, complete with pre-built binaries and all its source code that integrates with Unreal Engine, which can be installed to an engine version of your choice then enabled on a per-project basis.

Live Link Plugin for Unreal Engine is a plugin that receives CV Metadata transmitted using the CV Protocol from Canon lenses and cameras compatible with Canon Virtual Production System, and converts it into a data format suitable for use with a Cine Camera Actor.

CV Metadata stores frame-by-frame lens and camera data, making real-time shooting information, such as zoom, focus, and distortion, readily available to Unreal Engine.

Advantages

• CV Metadata is produced using high-precision lens data and calculated according to the camera's shooting settings, eliminating the need for lens distortion and nodal offset calibration*. Even when the lens or camera settings are changed, the changes are reflected automatically for a seamless shooting experience.

  * Note: Initial calibration of any attached tracking device is required separately.

• Because CV Metadata is calculated in real time for each frame and linked to the frame's timecode, it is possible to create natural CG composite images with no misalignments even when the camera is moved or the lens is operated.

About Canon Virtual Production System

• By using a camera and lens compatible with Canon Virtual Production System, high-precision camera- and lens information suitable for virtual production can be output frame-by-frame through a single Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need for additional devices, like a lens gear. And since the output data automatically reflects any lens changes made while shooting, this makes it very easy to use various lenses, including zoom lenses, in virtual production.
